With their debut Breakfast just over the horizon, Chiddy Bang have set the promo train a-rolling. A trailer for their upcoming album was previewed a couple of days back and now we have some visuals for the leftover track ‘By Your Side’. Way back when (April 28 to be exact), Chidera of Chiddy Bang broke the record for the world’s longest freestyle rap. The marathon lead to the single ‘Guinness Flow’ a few weeks later. This duo is one that I’ve had my eye on for while, having branched out from producing to remixing tracks and releasing their own material. First off, I’m really feeling the sample on this one. Mad props to Xaphoon (even though your recent beat/mixtape thingy was kinda of soft). Built off the classic Motown trio Martha and The Vandellas’ 1960s hit ‘(Love Is Like a) Heat Wave’, Xaphoon’s crafted this gem which has an undeniable summer time vibe to it (see the title).
