Memory Man – Wu-Tang vs. D.I.T.C.

This week I’m bring you guys one of my favorite rap mixtapes. This mixtape by Memory Man brings you two of New Yorks finest rap crews together in a mash up of Wu-Tang and D.I.T.C. acapellas and beats.

Wu-Tang Clan vs. DITC Part 1

Wu-Tang Clan vs. DITC Part 2

Wu-Tang Clan was formed in the Slums of Shaolin (Staten Island) after the RZA, GZA and ODBs rap group All in Together Now failed to grab the attention of rap and hip hop fans across the globe. After touring with Cypress Hill, and with their release of Protect Ya Neck, they began to gain underground fame, which would eventually lead them to world wide fame.

The Diggin’ in the Crates Crew (D.I.T.C.) includes rappers and producers Lord Finesse, Diamond D, O.C., Fat Joe, Buckwild, Showbiz, A.G. and the late Big L. Mainly from the Bronx, these guys were all involved in individual careers before forming a group together, some producing for big names, such as Lord Finesse’s production of Notorious B.I.G’s “Suicidal Thoughts” and Dr.Dre’s “The Message”.

Personally, I like the first two tracks of part 1 the best, mixing Wu-Tang’s Da Mystery of Chessboxing acapella over Showbiz and A.G.’s Soul Clap beat, followed by Big L’s “Fall Back” acapella over Wu-Tang Clan’s “Protect Ya Neck” beat.

You can download the mixtape here in two parts, or you can sign up at DatPiff.com and download the mixtape divided into individual tracks here. Either way, all the tracks flow into each other in a perfect transaction

Anyways, hope you enjoy. Watch out next Wednesday for my post featuring songs produced by DJ Premier.

Until next week
