Slick Werk (Chill Dubstep)
Back from the weekend with a toned down vengeance for y’all. Milwaukee dubstep producer Slick Werk has a very nice sound to the dubstep he produces, it’s certainly not over the top and it’s by no means bland either. The style is almost minimal at times, but is so nicely layered with a diverse range of grumbling basslines, sliding wubs, thumping bass kicks……..and harp solos? Wtf eh, but match that with some pretty female vocals and we’ve got a hit on our hands. Not necessarily club bangers but certainly something you can shake it to. And don’t bother trying to listen to these tunes on a laptop speaker system, it won’t pick up the subtle intricacies of bass
Dominant vocals, dutty harp and a layering of wobble on this tune, which I don’t think I’ve ever heard before. Perhaps the beginning of a new style of bass music?

Charles Schwartzel, 2011 Masters Champion
By the way, congrats to South Africa’s Charles Schwartzel for his Masters win yesterday. It was one of the craziest Masters I’ve seen to date with Tiger Woods making a big comeback and a whole slew of players (9) that were in contention all the way to the end. But finishing with 4 straight birdies to win your first green jacket? That’s some pretty slick werk there Charles. Congrats!
