Cool Indie – Darwin Deez
Darwin Deez? More like Darwin ‘Unreal’ Steez. Just look at this guy, he’s the perfect blend between Napoleon Dynamite and his brother Kip but he totally rocks the look
Anywho, hailing from New York City Darwin Deez brings us their infectiously brand of quirky indie rock tunes with this gem, Radar Detector. Their style is reminiscent of a popped up bubblegum version of The Strokes and Deez’s vocals shares many parallels with Julian Casablancas, except Darwin has adopted a more playful tone in his music. It’s a very simple song, but the beauty is in its simplicity. Hand claps, junty guitar licks and Deez’s voice will have your ears bouncing on this beautiful Friday morning.
Darwin Deez – Radar Detector
The best way to describe this sound would be in double d’s own words, ‘happy music for sad people/ white music for black people’. There’s nothing conventional about this guy and that’s what fresh music is all about.
