Body Language – Social Studies EP
While we’re on the tip of introducing artists and groups (yello squares and Far*Out yesterday) that you may be unfamiliar with, here’s one more to complete the trifecta. The four member electro-pop outfit Body Language hails from the indie haven of Brooklyn, NY and delivers on everything you’d expect when I combine the words Brooklyn, electro, indie, and pop in the same sentence.
Some people would say this is what pop music truly is and not the commercial stuff we’re use to hearing, but I’m not about to get into that argument right now. Actually, I guess I was since I started the previous sentence, ugh I’m confusing myself. Either way, Body Language makes good music and they’ve got some major collabs to back it up. Having toured with the likes of Passion Pit, La Roux, Theophilus London and others, Body Language seems poised to break out on their own in 2011. In addition, the quartet have also put in work on the ‘Speaks’ Remix compilation alongside Toro Y Moi and Shuttle AND we’re behind the Sleepyhead (Landau Wake Up Mix) from Passion Pit’s Chunk of Change EP. Released in the fall of last year, the four track EP Social Studies is below for streaming and you can grab it for free off of the group’s Bandcamp page. Peace.
