To be honest, I really haven’t listened to much of this mixtape. Not that I’m not a fan of Game or anything (The R.E.D. Album is one of my most anticipated releases of the year), but I got turned off from all the hype of it being the best mixtape ever, it being recorded under so and so ridiculous timeframe, solving all of life’s problems and so on. Point is, this is still a good (I’m going to hold back from saying very good until I listen to the whole thing) mixtape that deserves some plays if you like West Coast stylin’. If you’re really opinionated, check out the poll below along with the stream for the First Disc. Second Disc and download next.

Jokes video from SNL. I find it extra funny because I witnessed a guy creeping all up on everyone’s business Thursday night at the bar. I’m really hoping that a “Creep” dance craze takes off this year. Enjoy the visuals. And Nicki’s in the video looking sexy as well.

A little throwback track for ya on this Saturday evening. The track is from Common’s 2008 album Universal Mind Control, one of my favourite efforts from the Chicago hip hop artist. Gorilla Warfare Tactics’ hit single from earlier in the week sampled part of this song as well. Two for one special people, eat it up.

Wanted to bring some attention to Rockwell off the top, who has been tearing up the local scene in Toronto for a minute now. Through his melodic and creative remix work along with some original material of his own, Rockwell’s got the skills. I’ve been grooving out to some of his SoundCloud tracks for a couple of weeks now and have been dying to post, so here we finally are. Check out the tracks below plus some Wiz, Villa, Vodka & Milk, Hoodie Allen, Tits & Clits after the break. Happy Friday.

Offered below is a taste off of Love Thy Brother’s upcoming mixtape. The duo take Wiz’s track and add some classical elements, while upping the track to a more electronically driven sound. I’m feeling it like chocolate syrup on a Playboy bunny. Listen below and check back for their upcoming mixtape.

Awesome lineup of tracks that have been released over the last day or two. Pac Div previews another track off their upcoming Mania! mixtape. Co$$ storytells over a sexy instrumental on “Through The Flames” featuring Blu. An old Wiz Khalifa track with a new twist in 2005′s “Pittsburgh Sound” remixed into “We Drift Deeper”.

The gem of the post though goes to Gorilla Warfare Tactics and their “Temptations” single, sweet sweet Motown (Absinthe anyone?). Gorilla Warfare Tactics is composed of Kid Dilla on the mic and CakexCrumbs Productions on the beat. Haven’t heard much about these guys before, but they just put themselves on my radar. Great sampling, solid rhymes, and some pop cult shoutouts. Honestly, just have a listen and you’ll get what I’m saying.

Downloads on the other side.

Here’s closer-to-finished track from Dr. Dre with assistance from Em and Skylar Grey. A unfinished version has been floating around since late December, with the artwork just dropping last week. Here’s the full, and I’m assuming still unfinished, version which could possibly end up on Detox. Track and dl after the jump.

Just stumbled on this lil bit while trying to hammer out some studying at the library. Actually, I’m going to correct myself: this is a BIG tune. Janski turns this into a huge house track, evoking dreams of the drugged-fueled adventures I could be on if I wasn’t in school. Good fun.
